A Beach Adventure
Fit styled by Johnny Blanco
When Nike, Sacai and Kaws come together to drop a sneaker.
For this fun fit I started with the Nike - Sacai - Kaws sneaker collab. When Nike dropped these shoes I could not make up my mind on the color. So procrastinaton was the thief of opportunity. Months later I was lamenting on the ones that got away when I thought to myself, there is always the secondary market. So I logged on and “bam”, Bob’s your uncle (I got the shoes).
The Nike x sacai are sneakers like no other. Designer Chitose Abe fuses two iconic Nike shoes for a hybrid double-themed design with the Nike LDV and Waffle Racer, offering up double tongues, shoelaces and Swooshes with a co-branded Nike x sacai logo on the heel tab.
I am sure just about everyone has heard of NIKE, and most may have watched the movie about Jordans. Well this design has a twist...

One of those twists is the Japanese fashion icon Sacai (founded by Chitose Abe in 1999) and the other is the artist Brian Donnelly, better known as KAWS.
From graffiti to toys…Kaws has made a name for himself.
“Of course I love art, so it was interesting to see KAWS add his twist to this sneaker”.
Johnny Blanco
KAWS is a New York-based artist who has made a name by designing limited edition toys and clothing. He is also a world-renowned artist who exhibits in museums and galleries internationally. His art stands somewhere between fine art and global commerce. KAWS moved beyond the sphere of the exclusive art market to occupy a more complex global market.
While living in Jersey City, KAWS began his career as a graffiti artist. By the early 1990s he moved to New York City and began to work focus on subverting the images on bus shelters, phone booth advertisements, and billboards. Soon after his notoriety and popularity reached heights never before expected and these ads became increasingly sought after by the public.
“The color in these shoes reminded me of warm Caribbean water, while the yellow and pink accents reminded me of the bright neon lights you find on Ocean Drive”.

So the ‘fit was born. This would be my landing in Miami outfit. Perfect for an arrival in South Beach. I added a Kaws duffel bag and Kaws iPhone case along with a Kaws tribute shirt.
To bring in the beach flavor, I went to Billabong. This iconic surf company would be the perfect match for the beach lifestyle. I added in billabong shorts, a belt, socks, wallet, and classic hat.
Other accessories include a vintage pair of YSL sunglasses, a Swatch Swiss watch, B&O earbuds (for some reggaeton) and a handmade leather bracelet.
"If it’s hot out, you have got to look cool".

Hope you enjoy this fit. I get a lot of compliments on the streets.
